4 The 4am Club Has Entered The Chat

In the days after the election,  my tiktok feed began showing me people referring to themselves as the “4am Club.”  It felt like a lot of people were all “gathering” around the same energy:  there was something wrong. 

As I listened to what they were talking about,  I realized early on that we were both on the correct “side of tiktok” as they say. I kept hearing stories of how people had gone to sleep on election night and then they had woken up around 4am EST. For a lot of people, it was right at 4am. It was as if some event had happened.  It was such a powerful energy that many people had experienced this event together. I heard that it wasn’t just in the United States, but also people in other countries as well. Moving forward, they would call themselves the “4am club.”  It was their small online collection of people that belonged to this community because they had experienced this together.  On tiktok, the hashtag #4amClub would often show up where people would talk about what they felt and experienced.  It was helpful to a lot of people that had been looking for answers during this period when there were so many questions.
